5 tips for self-proofreading
Leave a few hours or days between readings.
You'll see mistakes that you have missed before.
Read the text backwards.
You won’t be focussed on content, just on individual words. This is a good technique to find spelling mistakes.
Use Word's read aloud feature.
You will be hearing the text instead of reading it. It will help you find new mistakes.
Read the text on hard copy.
A different medium always helps to see the text differently.
Change the font type, colour and size.
Once again, the change will allow you to spot things that you have missed before.
